British logistics company Yodel has signed a multi-year extension to its sponsorship of the Tour of Britain cycling race.

The parcel delivery company will remain the official logistics partner of the stage cycling race and as the sponsor of the sprint jersey, taking its association with the race into a third year.

As part of the new deal, Yodel will also become official logistics partner to the Halfords Tour Series, an 11-round city centre cycling race series, which brings televised professional team racing to towns and cities across Britain during May and June.

The Tour of Britain itself will begin this year on Sunday 9th September.

Although neither party was willing to disclose figures, the deal is for a multi-year period and is likely to be worth a low- to mid-six figure sum annually.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Yodel’s chief executive Jonathan Smith said: "We are very proud to once again be part of the UK’s leading professional cycle race.  Yodel has developed an association with cycling and is the logistics partner for a number of major bicycle retailers, including Halfords and we are delighted to be joining them for the Tour Series.

Yodel joins IG Markets and Skoda UK in committing to sponsor one of the Tour's four leaders' jerseys.
