The English and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that 110,000 fans attended the 2023 Women’s Ashes, a 450 per cent increase on the total gate for the 2019 series.
Confirmed:
- 33.5 per cent of ticket buyers were women
- 2023 series was watched by 5.3 million viewers on live TV, more than doubling the audience for the 2019 Women’s Ashes
- Two million viewers watch highlights of the 2023 Women’s Ashes across the BBC’s platforms
- The Ashes drew 47 million video views on social media

This was the first series featuring the England Women’s one-day international (ODI) team to sell out completely. Pay-TV broadcaster Sky had previously reported strong viewership figures for both the opening Test and the Ashes’ Twenty20 matches.

The ECB will hope increased interest in the Women’s Ashes will translate into greater attention for the women’s edition of The Hundred, which begins on 1st August.
