The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) has agreed a multi-year partnership extension with Meta that will see 20 games live streamed per season on Meta Quest platforms.
Contract:
- WNBA live games to be available on Meta Quest virtual reality (VR) headsets in Meta Horizon Worlds and in the Xtadium app
- Meta becomes official VR headset of the league
- WNBA-licensed virtual apparel to be made available in the Meta Avatars Store
Context:
Earlier this year, Meta expanded its partnership with the National Basketball Association (NBA) to include live VR broadcasts of 52 live games.

“We look forward to our future with Meta as the WNBA expands its presence in the metaverse to reach our fans on their unique platforms,” said Colie Edison, WNBA chief growth officer.

The first game fans can watch on Meta Quest platforms will be the clash between the Chicago Sky and the Minnesota Lynx on 19th May.
