Taiwan’s first Grand Slam tennis title winner, Hsieh Su-wei (left in picture), is slated to sign an endorsement deal by the end of the month with Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Co. (TTLC), the parent company of Taiwan Beer.
The deal has been reported to be worth NT£5 million (US$167,712) a year and follows Hseih’s recent victory at Wimbledon, where she and partner Peng Shuai of China won the women’s doubles title.
Under the agreement, Hsieh’s match kit will feature the Taiwan Beer logo and she will also pitch the product in commercials for the company.
Hsieh said: “I’m happy to endorse Taiwanese enterprises, and I hope more of them will sponsor athletes so that they have an easier time pursuing their professional career.”
