Pay-TV network Sky has agreed a five-year deal to exclusively show the US Open tennis Grand Slam in the UK and Ireland, beginning with the 2023 edition.
The arrangement with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) until the end of 2027 means Comcast-owned Sky will have access to all individual court feeds as part of its coverage, broadcasting at least 135 hours of tennis throughout the tournament’s two-week duration.
The broadcaster will offer coverage of the US Open across Sky Sports’ linear, digital and social channels, including the men’s, women’s, junior and wheelchair competitions.
Rights in the UK and Ireland were previously held by Amazon Prime Video since 2018 but The Times reported in April that Sky was set to reclaim the contract. Prior to Amazon’s arrival, rights for the US Open were held by multinational broadcaster Eurosport, which had sub-licensing deals with Sky.

“We have had a great history with the USTA and remember Andy Murray’s 2012 US Open win as one of the great moments on Sky Sports. This is another huge sporting event for our viewers, and we look forward to bringing tennis fans more of what they love and welcoming in new fans to the sport.”
