Adelaide United, the Australian A-League soccer club, has retained Exact Mining Services as a major sponsor. The company branding will continue to appear on Adelaide players’ shorts for another two years.
John Colalancia, Adelaide’s commercial manager, admitted that the current global economy means any deal is worth doing. he said: “Sponsorship dollars are hard to come by but we are tracking well.”
However, the deal is far from miniscule. As well as the short sponsorship, Exact has secured significant signage presence at the 17,000-capacity Hindmarsh Stadium as well as a wide range of corporate hospitality.
The club are arguably Australia’s highest-profile soccer team. Last year the team reached the final of the Asian Champions League, the premier club competition in Asia. More than a million spectators have attended games at Hindmarsh Stadium since the A-League was launched in 2005.
