State-owned broadcaster Abu Dhabi Media (ADM) has secured exclusive media rights to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

As part of a multi-year agreement, the pay-TV network will showcase live events as well as additional original UFC programming on its Abu Dhabi Sports 4 channel, including this 14th April rematch between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Meanwhile, live coverage will also be made available via the broadcaster’s new over-the-top (OTT) subscription service and mobile platform. The offering will also give customers access to all live UFC events, ADM confirmed, as well as a video archive featuring hundreds of hours of content available in Arabic.

“The MENA region is extremely important to UFC, and we are thrilled to begin this partnership with Abu Dhabi Media to bring our fans new and localised content,” said David Shaw, UFC’s international senior vice president.

“We are looking forward to working closely with Abu Dhabi Media on localised media initiatives for the region.”

UFC coverage returns to the ADM for the first time in three years after UFC’s former MENA rights partner, Orbit Showtime Network (OSN), was forced to cut short a long-term rights deal between 2017 and 2021, following the closure of five of its six sports channels.

“UFC has a very passionate fanbase across the United Arab Emirate (UAE) and the whole MENA region,” said Noura Al Kaabi, the chairman of ADM. “We are delighted to bring the UFC back to Abu Dhabi Media and we are excited to share their content with our viewers.”
