Sports streaming service DAZN has revealed record viewing figures for its coverage of the Uefa Women’s Champions League across the 2022/23 season.
Confirmed:
- Tournament viewed in more than 230 territories worldwide with 50 million views on the DAZN’s dedicated Women’s Champions League YouTube channel across the season
- Total views figure up 17 per cent on 2021/22 campaign
- Female viewership is up three per cent and more people aged 13 to 34 are tuning in
- DAZN sees increases across all devices, with mobile viewership rising 53 per cent
Context:
Now in its second season as the Women’s Champions League global broadcast partner, which includes a distribution deal with YouTube, DAZN said the latest viewing figures demonstrated the link between improving visibility, growing value and creating viability for the women’s game. According to a Crux Sports report, 86 per cent of participating clubs stated that they had seen a direct impact on their fanbase, while 57 per cent of fans said that they have an increased desire to follow players and clubs.
