- DraftKings becomes exclusive sportsbook for select properties as FanDuel takes NBA rights
- Both deals include integrations across Turner’s live broadcasts and Bleacher Report’s digital channels
US cable broadcaster Turner Sports has agreed multi-year deals with daily fantasy sports and betting operators DraftKings and FanDuel.
The partnership with DraftKings designates the Boston-headquartered company as the exclusive sportsbook and daily fantasy sports provider across select Turner Sports and Bleacher Report properties, excluding National Basketball Association (NBA) programming.
The deal will see the DraftKings provide sports betting information and daily fantasy content for Turner’s sports broadcasts and Bleacher Report’s digital channels, including the B/R app.
Integrations will include custom content segments, DraftKings’ betting odds and daily fantasy statistics, as well as original content, personalised automated alerts and editorial across B/R channels.
“Regulated betting is quickly becoming a fixture of modern sports entertainment, and this collaboration with Turner Sports further scales the reach of our products and content to engage fans,” said Ezra Kucharz, chief business officer at DraftKings.
“Turner Sports platforms provide exceptional content as they continually captivate sports audiences. Their medium aligns with the DraftKings’ brand and we look forward to delivering a seamless experience for readers and viewers while also broadening our visibility.”
FanDuel, meanwhile, will be the exclusive sportsbook partner for Turner’s NBA programming, granting the company access to integrations within live broadcasts and Bleacher Report’s digital channels.
As part of the agreement, FanDuel will provide basketball viewers with sports betting insight and analysis that will be directly integrated into the viewing experience.
The partnership started with the recently concluded NBA playoffs, which saw FanDuel odds integrated during TNT’s Inside the NBA studio show, while the company also benefited from promotional integrations during live games and across Bleacher Report channels.
“Turner Sports is a leader in the media industry and, together, we’re bringing viewership to the next level by offering exclusive sports betting content that’s directly integrated into their NBA programming,” said Mike Raffensperger, FanDuel Group’s chief marketing officer.
“We’ll be incorporating FanDuel Sportsbook odds and analysis into Turner Sport’s live broadcasts and Bleacher Report’s digital content, offering a new, enhanced, experience for NBA fans.”
Turner’s are the latest in a flurry of partnerships between US sports broadcasters and betting operators.
Last year, ESPN partnered with casino operator Caesars Entertainment to create sports betting content, while NBC and PointsBet recently announced a deal reportedly worth a mammoth US$500 million.
