Social video giant TikTok has agreed new content partnerships with the PGA Tour, the DP World Tour and the R&A ahead of the 150th edition of The Open golf major.
The deal will bring a range of content featuring some of golf’s biggest stars, including behind-the-scenes clips and top tips to TikTok, with the deal kicking in for the start of The Open in St Andrews on 14th July.
With #Golf on TikTok having generated 27 billion views to date, the platform is rolling out a new hashtag challenge to mark the start of the partnership and grow its golf content offering.
“This partnership will give golf fans unique access to the game’s most iconic players and tournaments, while enabling the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and Open Championships to grow and reach new audiences,” said Sanjit Sarkar, strategic partner manager at TikTok.
“It’s amazing to see how golf is taking off on TikTok and we want to keep bringing our community the best content from the sport they love. We can’t wait to see the creative ways people get involved in an exciting summer of golf.”
