Ticketmaster has been named the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace of the all-new College Football Playoff (CFP).

The Live Nation Entertainment subsidiary has signed a multi-year deal to operate the official ticket exchange platform around the post-season playoff structure for college football, which comes into effect this season.

As part of the new structure, which replaces the old BCS system, the best four teams as ranked by a 13-person selection committee will play in two playoff semifinal games, followed by a national championship game to be played in a rotating city each year.

Next year’s national championship game, the first under the new system, will be held on 12th January at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

“Our relationship with Ticketmaster will ensure that fans who wish to purchase tickets to the 2015 College Football Playoff National Championship have access to verified real tickets,” said CFP executive director Bill Hancock.

“Ticketmaster will provide ticket barcode verification and reissue technology for the tickets, something that is crucial in confirming their validity.”
