Masters final round on CBS scores highest viewership in five years

The broadcast averaged 12.06m viewers, up 19% YoY.

The final round of the 2023 Masters on CBS was the most-watched golf telecast on any US network in five years, averaging 12.06 million viewers.

Confirmed:

  • Final round peaked at more than 15 million viewers
  • Viewership was up 19 per cent on last year’s final round
  • CBS racked up 16.25 million combined total viewers for third and final rounds
  • Paramount+ scored its most-streamed round of golf ever, reporting double-digit year-over-year (YoY) growth across households, minutes and average minute audience (AMA)

Context:

With play suspended on 8th April due to heavy rain, CBS showed the end of the third round on the morning of 9th April before covering the final round later that day.

CBS will want the PGA Championship, golf’s next major, to attract similarly strong viewership next month.
