Sydney FC secures electric partnerships

Sydney FC, the Australian soccer club, has secured two sponsorship agreements with electronics companies, and will be backed by Bing Lee and Sony.

Sydney FC, the Australian soccer club, has secured two sponsorship agreements with electronics companies, and will be backed by Bing Lee and Sony.

The two-year partnership with Bing Lee is an extension of an existing deal that sees the retailer sponsor Sydney’s home shirts. Sony, meanwhile, has taken on the team’s away shirts and home shorts.

“To have two such outstanding companies on board as major sponsors in these tough economic times is fantastic for the club, and a great boost as we look ahead to the start of the new season,” said Sydney FC chief executive, Stefan Kamasz. “Bing Lee have been great supporters of ours for a number of years now and a very important part of our football family. Our two organisations have much in common and we are thrilled they have agreed to extend their sponsorship. Sony is an organisation with strong links to football, both here in Australia and overseas. The company has an international focus so their decision to become a major sponsor of our club is a great endorsement of the new direction and professional approach we are taking here at Sydney FC.”

Sony Australia managing director Carl Rose added: “Our support for the game, from Fifa right through to local Hyundai A-League clubs, shows our commitment to the passion and excitement of the world game. We know Bing Lee shares this passion, so to unite with them to become a co-sponsor of Sydney FC creates a fantastic opportunity for us all. Sydney FC’s new management team, with its vision to drive the club forward to success locally and in Asia, was a major factor in our decision to join with Bing Lee to support the club.
