Swiss public broadcaster SRG SSR has extended as the host broadcaster of the Spengler Cup ice hockey tournament in Davos, Switzerland.
The new five-year deal, which runs up to and including the 2016 edition of the event, will see SRG SSR produce coverage of all games in high definition for telecasts in Switzerland and worldwide.
The agreement was signed between SRG SSR and HC Davos, the traditional host team of the historic tournament, which this year runs from 26th to 31st December and includes five other sides: Team Canada, Germany's Adler Mannheim, Davos' Swiss rivals HC Fribourg-Gottéron, Czech team HC Vítkovice Steel, and Russian outfit Salavat Yulaev Ufa.
HC Davos were crowned winners of last year's Spengler Cup after defeating Latvian side Dinamo Riga 3-2 in the final to record their 15th title.
