Solheim Cup inks sustainability partnership with Peninsula

Marine energy supplier to help women's biennial team golf competition's set new sustainability targets.

The Solheim Cup, the biennial women’s golf match between Europe and the US, has named marine energy supplier Peninsula as its sustainability partner. 

Contract:

  • Peninsula will support the Solheim Cup’s sustainability activity
  • New sustainability targets to be developed by both parties in the coming months

Context:

Peninsula joins a slew of other companies on board for the 2023 Solheim Cup, including global partners Ping and Rolex.

Comment:

“We are firmly committed to the decarbonisation and sustainability of the marine energy industry and are always looking for opportunities to go beyond,” said John A Bassadone, founder and chief executive of Peninsula.

“The Solheim Cup’s sustainability agenda perfectly matches our aspirations, but this partnership is a great match in many other ways.”

Coming next:

This year’s Solheim Cup, which takes place from 22nd to 24th September, travels to Spain for the first time and will be hosted at Finca Cortesin in Andalucía.
