Slazenger will be an official sponsor of Scottish Hockey, the governing body of the sport in Scotland, until the end of 2011 after agreeing a deal to support the country’s Under-18 and Under-16 teams in the build-up to the European Championships and U16 Four Nations Tournament. SportScotland, the national agency sport development in the country, will match Slazenger’s financial contribution through the ‘sportsmatch’ programme, while the sports brand will also provide equipment to the teams.

“We are delighted to enter into partnership with Scottish Hockey,” said Slazenger sponsorship executive, Chloe Passant. “The deal demonstrates the Slazenger commitment to offer market leading hockey equipment to players of all levels, and to continue our support of the development of junior hockey. We are well placed to do this from our position at the forefront of the hockey brands in the marketplace.”

Ben Glencross, development manager for Scottish Hockey said: “There’s no doubt Slazenger and ‘sportsmatch’ support will make a huge difference to our resources and the development of youth hockey in Scotland.”
