Consumer electronics brand Skyworth has become the first sponsor of the 26th Universiade 2011, the international student athletics competition, to be held in Shenzhen in China.

Skyworth will act as the event’s exclusive supplier of electronic display products including LED, DLP, and LCD display screens as well as television sets.

The Universiade, sometimes known in England as the World Student Games, is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU).

The Shenzhen Games will be the 26th edition of a competition that has been running since 1923. More than 9,000 students competed at the last Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand.
