UK pay-TV broadcaster Sky Sports will air all four golf majors on the PGA Tour for the first time since 2016 after reclaiming media rights to the PGA Championship.

The tournament was available in the UK via the public-service broadcaster the BBC in 2017 and then moved to Eleven Sports, the over-the-top (OTT) sports streaming platform, last year after Sky failed to secure a deal with the tournament.

This year, Sky Sports will air all of the new-look major calendar that includes coverage from the Masters from Augusta National from 11th to 14th April, followed by the PGA Championship – which was previously the final major of the year – from 16th to 19th May, before airing the US Open between 13th to 16th June, and the Open from 18th to 21st July.

Sky Sports has also confirmed it will carry rights to all five women’s golf majors this year, including the Women’s British Open at Woburn in August.

The women’s season begins with the ANA Inspiration from 4th to 7th April, before the US Women’s Open in May, the Women’s PGA Championship in June and the Evian Championship in July.

September’s Solheim Cup also features as one of the more than 100 events available via the network in 2019.

“It promises to be a stunning year for golf fans with countless fascinating stories of the best players on the planet jostling for the biggest prizes on pristine courses,” said Barney Francis, head of Sky Sports. “It’s all set for a thrilling year and Sky Sports will have every twist and turn covered.”
