Northern Irish golf star Rory McIlroy has signed a multi-year extension with TaylorMade, the golf equipment company has confirmed.

The renewal will see McIlroy continue to use TaylorMade’s clubs, bag and balls for the duration of the deal. The 33-year-old originally signed a reported US$100 million partnership with the golf brand in 2017 after Nike, his long-term equipment partner, pulled out of the space.

In addition to using TaylorMade equipment, McIlroy will also feature in marketing campaigns and branded content.

The deal means that TaylorMade now has equipment deals with four of the world’s top ten ranked golfers, including world number one and 2022 Masters champion Scottie Scheffler.

“Over the last several years I have had the chance to work with the best equipment company in golf,” said McIlroy.

“Today I am excited to announce TaylorMade clubs and ball will be staying in my bag for many years to come. A combination of the dedicated people and unmatched performance is what drove me to remain a part of Team TaylorMade.”

David Abeles, chief executive and president of TaylorMade Golf, added: “Rory is undeniably one of the most captivating players in our game and truly one of the great human beings in the sports world.

“Over the past five years, in partnership with Rory, our company has been able to advance product innovation and put the best possible equipment in his bag. Rory’s decision to continue to put his trust in our company has us inspired to push the limits of performance even further.”

McIlroy has won 20 titles on the PGA Tour and 14 on the DP World Tour, including four major championships, over the course of his career.
