Puma will replace Le Coq Sportif as kit supplier to the Algeria national team, currently in prime position to qualify for the 2010 Fifa World Cup.

The team’s qualification would help Puma take a step closer to repeating the success of its 2006 World Cup campaign, when as well as providing shirts for the champions, Italy, the company was kit supplier for every African team that qualified.

Algeria will wear the kit for the first time at the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola. The country’s contract with Le Coq Sportif takes in the rest of the World Cup qualifiers in 2009.
