The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has signed a broadcast deal with subscription streaming service StarzPlay Sports covering the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Contract:
- StarzPlay to air all 2023 PTO Tour races live across 24 countries
- Deal includes race highlights and preview shows
Context:
The StarzPlay Sports platform launched in 2022 and the agreement with the PTO bolsters a live content slate that includes Italian soccer’s Serie A and Coppa Italia, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Twenty20 competition, International Cricket Council (ICC) events, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and world championship boxing.
Comment:
“Expanding the PTO Tour’s coverage across the MENA region was high on our list of priorities when we sat down and reviewed our year one effort,” said Tim Godfrey, chief marketing officer at the PTO.
“The appetite of the region to both host and watch premium sports content is accelerating fast, so this was an important deal for us to secure. StarzPlay has a massive reach across the Middle East and North-Africa region and with their support we will be able to reach our audiences across these key markets.”
Coming next:
In 2023, the PTO Tour will start in Ibiza on 6th May with the inaugural PTO European Open. It travels to Milwaukee for the PTO US Open from 4th to 5th August and then to Singapore for the first-ever PTO Asian Open from 19th to 20th August.
