ONE Championship
ONE Championship has agreed a partnership with Horizon Sports & Experiences (HS&E) that will see the agency work with and help manage the martial arts promotion’s sponsorship, entitlement and brand activation efforts in the US.
Contract:
- HS&E made responsible for developing and expanding ONE’s sponsorship portfolio to include new and innovative brand partners
- Agency to identify, negotiate and represent sponsorship and entitlement agreements that will incorporate brands into ONE live events, as well as brand activation for accompanying ancillary experiences
- HS&E will provide ONE with its full suite of data and analytics services and solutions
- ONE also secures an exclusive broadcast partnership with SuperSport, with the South African pay-TV network to broadcast its ‘ONE Fight Night’ events across Sub-Saharan Africa
- Rights deal to continue with ‘ONE Fight Night 9’ on 22nd April
Context:
Chatri Sityodtong, chairman and chief executive of ONE, told SportsPro last August that the promotion was looking to “dominate” in the US, citing ONE’s large following and the size of the combat sports market in the country. It now joins Horizon’s expanding client roster, which includes the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Football League (NFL).
Meanwhile, SuperSport has already started broadcasting ONE events on its platforms across 51 territories in Sub-Saharan Africa, including last month’s ‘ONE Fight Night 8’.
Comment:
“We’re grateful for HS&E’s staunch support to help us scale and succeed as we host our dynamic martial arts events live for the first time in front of our passionate US fan base,” said Sityodtong.
Coming next:
HS&E will look to secure partnerships for ONE in time for its debut event in the US on 5th May.
