Satellite TV channel Khabar has acquired the rights to broadcast the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in Kazakhstan.

100 hours of action from the Games will be aired in the central Asian country, including live coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies.

Due to the nine-hour time difference between Rio and the Kazakh capital of Almaty, Khabar will also show repeat coverage and highlights of all events the following day.

As part of its Olympic coverage, Khabar is also launching a special internet project to provide further news, interviews and reports directly from Rio.
