France's Olympic 50 metre freestyle swimming champion Florent Manaudou has agreed an endorsement deal with Microsoft.

The 22-year-old, who became the first ever French champion in Olympic swimming's sprint event at London 2012, will appear in a series of television commercials and a media campaign in his homeland to promote the software giant's new Windows Phone 8.

Manaudou joins the likes of French TV chef Cyril Lignac in the campaign and is set to appear in the advertisements sending messages to his older sister, Laure, also an Olympic champion swimmer.

Microsoft joins Assu 200 and IceWatch in using Manaudou to promote its products.
