The LPGA Tour has announced a new multi-year agreement with the Golf Channel that sees the network gain exclusive rights to the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
The 2012 Kraft Nabisco Championship begins Thursday 29th March.
Having originally partnered in 2011, the new extension sees the network providing coverage of the LPGA Tour's first major championshipfor the next three-years.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
“Based on the strong promotional advertising, the incredible tournament coverage and storytelling, and the record-high viewership results that occurred in 2011, we’re excited to partner with Golf Channel and continue showcasing the LPGA’s first major,” said LPGA Tour commissioner Mike Whan.
Golf Channel president Mike McCarley added, "Extending our exclusive partnership with the LPGA Tour and the Kraft Nabisco Championship is great for fans of the game and the excitement that the season’s first major championship brings. We’re looking forward to showcasing these compelling stories for our viewers and providing a home for the tournament for years to come."
In related news, 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship winner Stacy Lewis has signed a personal endorsement agreement with tax and advisory firm KPMG.
Under terms of the deal, which begins on the first day of the 2012 Kraft Nabisco Championship, 27-year-old Lewis will sport KPMG's logo on her shirt and collar during all golf-related appearances.
