The New England Sports Network (NESN) has announced plans to live stream Boston Red Sox baseball games.

The New England-based television network has launched the NESNgo app, which will provide fans with access to live NESN-televised Major League Baseball (MLB) regular season Red Sox games, along with other NESN programming.

The new offer will not incur any additional cost for existing subscribers, and will allow fans to stream games via NESNgo.com or through the app for mobiles and tablets.

“Live in-market streaming will provide Red Sox fans who are on the go a means to watch games anytime, anywhere they go, on virtually any device,” said Sean McGrail, president and chief executive of NESN.

“For years, NESN has wanted to extend live streaming access to our viewers, so we couldn’t be more excited to launch NESNgo this season. This is a significant milestone in NESN history.”

The Red Sox are currently third in the American League East. They play their next game against the Texas Rangers tonight.
