Movistar Plus has retained the Spanish rights to the National Basketball Association (NBA) for a further three seasons.
Starting with the upcoming campaign, the pay-TV broadcaster will continue to show coverage of North America’s preeminent basketball league until 2020.
Movistar’s offering will include the weekly NBA Action news and highlights show, along with the NBA Generation analysis programme.
Details of the number of live games included in the rights package have not yet been released but it is believed that Movistar will continue to show one game each day as per previous agreements.
Movistar’s coverage will start with both opening games of the 2017/18 NBA season on Tuesday, when last year’s runners-up, the Cleveland Cavaliers, host the Boston Celtics, before the Houston Rockets travel to play reigning champions Golden State Warriors.
