Black Solicitors LLP has appointed former champion jockey and chief executive of the Professional Jockey’s Association, Kevin Darley, as its latest sports consultant.
Darley, whose 32-year career saw him crowned Champion Apprentice Jockey in 1978 and Champion Flat Jockey in 2000, is the latest in a string of sporting figures to join Black Solicitors. Ex-footballers Robbie Savage, John Hendrie and Brian Deane, and former Yorkshire cricketer Gerard Brophy are also on the company’s books.
“We are delighted that Kevin has agreed to be part of our team and Kevin’s knowledge of horse racing is second to none and will provide real industry knowledge to our racing clients and supplement and support the expertise and industry knowledge we already have within our Sports Team,” said Blacks’ managing partner Chris Allen.
“Kevin is a great role model for young professional jockeys and at the same time aware of the real needs of jockeys and racing staff at the beginning and end of their careers,” added Allen.
Darley said: “I am delighted to be joining the Blacks Sports Team which has an envied reputation within sport particularly in respect of their work with sports individuals and the extensive industry knowledge they bring to the table. I have known members of the sports team for a number of years and I am looking forward to being part of the team and offering my knowledge and experience.”
