Simon Green, the former chief executive of pay-TV boxing channel Boxnation, has been appointed head of BT Sport.

Green, who has previously held positions with BSkyB and Setanta, will report to BT Vision chief executive Marc Watson, and will be responsible for all of BT Sport’s output, including the newly acquired Barclays Premier League rights.

Green leaves Boxnation, backed by boxing promoter Frank Warren, just weeks after it announced the launch of a new UK channel on the Sky platform.
