Discount retailer Dollar General will remain the primary sponsor of Sarah Fisher Racing in the Indycar Series for 2010. News of the deal was announced at the final race of the 2009 season in Miami at the weekend.

The company will sponsor Fisher, who drives for the team, for nine races, three more than in 2009.

“We are a proud supporter of her team and we are particularly proud of Sarah’s record of making racing history,” said Rick Dreilling, chairman and CEO of Dollar General.

It will be the company’s third season with the team, having begun sponsoring Fisher just before the 2008 Indy 500 and then on an intermittent basis since then. “We’re so lucky to have a partner like Dollar General,” a delighted Fisher said.

“They really saved us in our time of need, and they have continued to back us up in everything we have done since. We are constantly doing everything we can to make that relationship just as beneficial for them.”

She added: “Dollar General has become our second family, and we want to make sure they are always getting the most bang for their buck.”
