World famous champagne house Moët & Chandon has renewed its sponsorship of the Ryder Cup for the 2010 competition.
The agreement takes the company’s partnership with Ryder Cup Europe to 17 years. Moët & Chandon was first named as the Ryder Cup’s preferred champagne at the 1993 edition of the biennial tournament, which pits Europe’s best golfers against those of the USA. Moët & Chandon will provide the champagne at all official Ryder Cup functions and hospitality.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed our association with The Ryder Cup since 1993 and are delighted to extend our agreement with Ryder Cup Europe through to The 2010 Ryder Cup at The Celtic Manor Resort,” said Graham Boyes, Managing Director of Moët Hennessy UK. “Golf has been important to Moët & Chandon for many years, both in Europe and globally and we are delighted to continue our strong association with the most exciting team event in world golf.”
Moët & Chandon also sponsors the European Tour in a separate deal. George O’Grady, chief executive of The European Tour, said: “As preferred supplier of champagne to The 2010 Ryder Cup, Moët & Chandon will be continuing a long and productive partnership with Ryder Cup Europe stretching back to 1993 at The Belfry. Moët & Chandon have been part of the family of European Tour Sponsors since 1994, and we are delighted that those equally close ties with The Ryder Cup are going forward to the 2010 match at The Celtic Manor Resort.”
