MLB adds Gloops and Boeing to Japan series

Japanese mobile phone application developer Gloops is to be the title sponsor for Major League Baseball's opening series in Japan.

Japanese mobile phone application developer Gloops is to be the title sponsor for Major League Baseball's opening series in Japan. Seattle Mariners take on the Oakland A's over two games in Tokyo on March 28th and 29th in the Gloops Japan Opening Series.

"We are very excited to have Gloops as a title sponsor for Japan Opening Series 2012," said Paul Archey, MLB's senior vice president of international business. 
 
"Gloops is a popular Japanese company that develops Major League Baseball-themed gaming applications. We look forward to working with Gloops on the highly anticipated opening of the 2012 MLB season in Japan."
 
Gloops logos will feature on both teams' batting helmets.
 
In a seperate deal Boeing will also sponsor the series, with its logo featuring on the Mariners' jerseys.
 
According to MLB.com, Bank of America, Lawson Ticket and Ito Ham are amongst the other sponsors of the series this year.
