- Bally’s secures access to official MLB marks and data
- Betting firm’s content to be integrated into live game coverage across 19 RSNs
- MLB joins the NBA and NHL in partnering with Bally’s
Bally’s Corporation has continued its march into US sport after being named an authorised gaming operator of Major League Baseball (MLB).
The multi-year deal gives the casino and gambling operator access to official MLB league and team marks, logos and data, which the company will incorporate across its portfolio of sports betting products.
In addition, Bally’s will use the assets to create content for MLB fans, which will be integrated into live game coverage across 19 regional sports networks (RSNs) that account for more than half of the league’s US-based franchises.
The tie-up follows up Bally’s recent deals with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Hockey League (NHL), making it an authorised sports betting operator for both leagues.
Last year, the company also secured the naming rights to Sinclair Broadcast Group’s portfolio of RSNs for a reported US$85 million over ten years.
“As we prepare for the start of the 2021 season, working with Bally’s will present our fans with yet another unique avenue to engage with baseball,” said Kenny Gersh, executive vice president, business development, MLB.
“Bally’s knows how to provide added entertainment for sports fans across the country, so we look forward to collaborating on new ways of engaging fans around our games.”
George Papanier, Bally’s president and chief executive, added: “The agreement between Bally’s and MLB offers exciting benefits for baseball fans nationwide.
“We are honoured to have the opportunity to put the Bally’s stamp on America’s national pastime and look forward to providing an innovative and engaging sports betting experience.”
