Online bookmaker 32Red will be the headline sponsor of two Matchroom Boxing promoted cards over the next fortnight.

Both fight nights are headlined by world championship bouts involving UK-based boxers. The first card – on 7th October in Glasgow – will see WBA super-lightweight champion Ricky Burns defend his belt against mandatory challenger Kiryl Relikh. A week later, WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew will make his first title defence against American BJ Flores at Liverpool’s Echo Arena.

Both events will be shown live on pay-TV channel Sky Sports. The financial terms of the 32Red deal were not released.

“I am delighted that 32Red are on board for these two huge nights for British boxing,” said Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing. “That weekend in May will live long in the memory, as two special nights as Ricky cemented his place in the record books as an all-time great and Tony achieved a fairytale win at the home of his beloved Everton FC. Now they are looking to build on those wins with successful defences on two cards packed with great fights.”

Matt Booth, chief commercial officer at 32Red, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Matchroom Boxing and to be sponsoring the next two world title fights in Glasgow featuring Ricky Burns and Liverpool featuring Tony Bellew.

“British boxing is at an all-time high and to associate the 32Red brand with these great nights is very exciting for us.”
