Manchester City
Reigning English soccer champions Manchester City have announced OKX as their new sleeve partner, as part of a new multi-year contract with the cryptocurrency exchange.
Contract:
- OKX branding to feature on the left sleeve of both the men’s and women’s first team playing kits
- Web 3.0 brand to retain position on the left sleeve of the first team’s training kits
- OKX to receive exposure through appearances across club’s other digital and physical assets
Context:
City initially linked up with OKX last year, with the cryptocurrency exchange first expanding its partnership to become the club’s official training kit partner for last season, paying more than US$20 million for the one-year deal. The Web 3.0 brand also has separate endorsement deals with two City players in Jack Grealish and Alex Greenwood.
While no financial terms were disclosed for the new sleeve sponsorship, the Daily Mail says the new agreement is worth UK£55 million over the next three years.
Comment:
“Both OKX and Manchester City are leading companies driven by a passion for innovation,” said Ferran Soriano, chief executive at City Football Group.
“We have already seen great Web 3.0 experiences designed by OKX for Manchester City’s global fan base and there will be many more to come. This is a very exciting partnership.”
Coming next:
Fans will see OKX branding on City’s new kit in action during their preseason tour of Japan in July, while the club will also be hoping to add another training kit partner after OKX upgraded its branding inventory for the 2023/24 season.
