English soccer champions Manchester City have extended their sleeve sponsorship deal with Nexen Tire for the 2019/20 season.

The two parties first teamed up in 2015, with Nexen expanding the deal to become the first sleeve partner for an English soccer club two years later.

The new deals sees the Korean tyre manufacturer retain its playing shirt sleeve branding as well as across City’s other physical and digital assets. The extended contract also gives Nexen the right to activate the partnership globally with City-related marketing efforts.

The financial terms of the renewed agreement have not been released, but the previous sleeve sponsor deal was worth UK£10 million (US$12.1 million) per season.

Travis King, chief executive of Nexen Tire, said: “Nexen Tire has been actively supporting Manchester City throughout the years, accompanying the team in their successive wins in the Premier League. We are determined to create bigger synergy with the club, setting our eyes on the continued collaborative success with Manchester City.”

City began the defence of their Premier League crown at the weekend in emphatic fashion, defeating West Ham 5-0.
