  • Watch parties, influencer-driven chat, prediction games, fan leaderboards, live polls and quizzes to be offered alongside ticketing, subscriptions and virtual goods
  • Solutions to be offered to existing partners of both companies

Digital engagement specialist LiveLike has agreed a partnership with monetisation and subscriber management platform InPlayer.

The deal will see the two partners collaborate to maximise the revenue potential of live events with ticketing and pay-per-view (PPV) access to real-time, interactive livestreams.

Through this partnership, LiveLike’s audience engagement platform and InPlayer’s PPV and subscription technology will now be offered together for the first time. The move ensures that both companies’ existing partners get provided with a full suite of solutions, as well as creating what they hope is a more compelling offer for the market.

The combined offering includes a range of scalable features, such as watch parties, influencer-driven chat, prediction games, fan leaderboards, live polls, quizzes and other interactive tools, as well as a variety of ways to turn engagement into sales via ticketing, subscriptions and virtual goods.

Additionally, the LiveLike and InPlayer combined offering can now provide data and payment gateway integration for live entertainment and sports properties looking to collect and utilise fan data in real-time. This offers customers the potential to create additional revenue streams around their live event experience but also a platform to inform pricing strategies with real-time integrated analytics and purchase predictions.

“We have already seen the power that social engagement, interactive features and gamification have – elevating the viewing experience, increasing retention, and bringing new sponsorship possibilities to our partners’ platforms – but we are only scratching the surface when it comes to creating new monetisation opportunities,” said Miheer Walavalkar, co-founder and chief executive of LiveLike.

“From buying tickets and accessing pay-per-view concerts or matches, to enabling microtransactions around virtual goods, merchandise or legal wagering, the sky's the limit, and through this partnership with InPlayer we can now open new doors for our current and new partners.”

George Meek, InPlayer chief executive, added: “Fans and consumers are more and more demanding, just watching a game or a concert is not enough. As fans want to be part of the action, we have to tailor their experiences to what they like, connect with them on a deeper level and be able to scale that up. This drives a lot of monetization opportunities.

“Our end-to-end solution will empower entertainment and sports rights holders to step up their offering with new meaningful ways to engage. It will also enable our partners to collect and own first-party engagement data that is more easily gathered and deployed on owned and operated platforms, informing pricing and future content strategies .”
