- US software firm YinzCam leads on digital facelift
- Mobile app also includes interactive seating map
- New AR portal earmarked for SoFi Stadium tours
The National Football League’s (NFL) Los Angeles Chargers will live stream in-market games via a new-look mobile app.
Users will also gain access to real-time team statistics, player rosters, and league standings, as well as daily news, game highlights, team practice interviews, and podcasts.
Upgrades to the new Chargers app also include personalisation settings that allow users and the franchise to tailor content to individual interests and needs.
The platform, which has been developed in partnership with US software company YinzCam, is designed to help facilitate the return of fans to the Chargers’ new US$5 billion SoFi Stadium. To that end, it includes interactive stadium features such as a digital seating map, parking information, and mobile ticketing in collaboration with Ticketmaster.
The coronavirus pandemic has seen the Chargers unable to welcome fans into their new home, but when they do the platform will integrate digital discounts for season ticket members.
In addition, a new augmented reality (AR) portal has been earmarked for the mobile app, which will enable fans from around the globe to take virtual tours inside SoFi Stadium and on the Chargers’ home field.
