Japanese office equipment manufacturer Konica Minolta has renewed its partnership with South African cricket team Highveld Lions, in a one-year deal which sees its bizhub brand of printers continue to title sponsor the SuperSport Series side.

While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the agreement takes the partnership into its sixth consecutive year, in which time the company has supported the Lions’ cricket academy for local youngsters.

“Konica Minolta South Africa is proud to continue with our patronage of the bizhub Highveld Lions for the sixth year running,” said Janine Ferreira, the company’s public relations officer. “We do it for the love of the sport and hope that, with this investment, the bizhub Lions can continue to develop its players and, ultimately, enrich the game of cricket in South Africa.”

“Sponsors are invaluable to sport and are what enable us to do what we need to,” said Lions chief executive Cassim Docrat. “Renewing our naming rights sponsorship with Konica Minolta South Africa is a sign of a truly dedicated sponsor and we look forward to reaching new heights with them in the coming season.”
