JK Technology is to sponsor the 2015 South-East Asian (SEA) Games in Singapore.

The company has agreed a deal that will see it become the official IT equipment partner for the games, providing 1,450 laptops, 450 printers and 100 scanners to the Singapore Southeast Asian Games Organising Committee (SINGSOC). It will also be installing IT infrastructure across the 31 Games venues, and will be committing S$1.5 million (US$1.1 million) to the partnership.

“We are very pleased to have our SMEs on board the 28th SEA Games” said SINGSOC chief of community and corporate outreach Toh Boon Yi. “It is Singapore’s turn to host and we are delighted that our homegrown companies are stepping up and going the extra mile to contribute to the success of the games. JK Technology is one of our key service product suppliers and with their support, I am confident that the Games will be delivered in a seamless and secure manner.”

Eugene Ang, the JK Technology executive director, added: “The sponsorship for the Games will be the largest one that we have ever committed. It is a dream come true and it represents a major milestone for an SME like us.”

The 28th SEA Games will bring 7,000 athletes and officials from 11 south-east Asian countries to compete across 36 sports.
