Jamaica’s Premier League Clubs Association (PLCA) is set to announce telecommunications provider Lime as its new sponsor.
The deal comes shortly after the PLCA ended its three-year partnership with rival telecom provider Digicel.
The 12-team Jamaican league, which kicks-off on the 28th August, will now be referred to as the Lime Premier League. The deal will also see the Lime logo feature on the front of each team’s shirt and associate sponsors will be allowed on the back and sleeves of the shirt.
Although a figure has not yet been announced, the deal is expected to be worth more than the US$1.77million paid over three years by Digicel.
Lime will become the fourth lead sponsor in the past six years after financial complications led to the collapse of several previous agreements.
