Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Inter Miami have announced a multifaceted sponsorship deal with car retailer AutoNation that includes stadium naming rights and branding on first team training kits.

The three-year deal will see Inter Miami’s 18,000-seater interim home in Fort Lauderdale renamed DRV PNK Stadium to raise awareness of AutoNation’s DRV PNK initiative, a campaign which to date has raised over US$26 million in support of cancer research and treatment.

As part of a multiplatform media campaign, AutoNation will also sponsor the club’s ‘Saves’ feature, which will see the pair donate up to US$100,000 towards cancer research annually for every stop made by an Inter Miami goalkeeper.

In addition, AutoNation will be the presenting sponsor of an Inter Miami home game during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, for which the two parties will invite attending fans to support the cause by wearing pink.

The agreement also designates AutoNation as the official and exclusive automotive partner of Inter Miami.

Commenting on the deal, Inter Miami’s managing owner Jorge Mas said: “It’s important as a sports club to take our time to partner with the right brands who not only represent our values but also help us use our platforms and reach to amplify good causes.”

Inter Miami will play their first league game at the newly branded DRV PNK Stadium on 18th April, when they host LA Galaxy in the opening fixture of their second MLS season.
