- Consumers offered annual pass or PPV options
Wanda-owned agency Infront has partnered with sports streaming specialist StreamAMG to launch Ski and Snowboard Live, a new direct-to-consumer (DTC) platform for the US market.
The agency holds broadcast partnerships with a vast array of national winter sports bodies and is entrusted with the commercial brief for the majority of the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup races, as well as all the global governing body’s World Ski Championships until 2025.
The new over-the-top (OTT) platform will offer users access to live streams from international events of the FIS Alpine, Snowboard, Freestyle Ski and Cross Country World Cup, all of them with English commentary.
The platform will air 160 live races during the 2021/22 season, starting with the upcoming Alpine Ski World Cup event in Levi, Finland.
The platform, powered by StreamAMG’s streaming technology, will offer fans the option of an all-inclusive season subscription or pay-per-view (PPV) packages. Ski and Snowboard Live will also include on-demand content, highlights, interviews, event replays and other behind-the-scenes footage.
Amikam Kranz, Infront’s vice president of media sales and operations, said: “We were keen to ensure that snow sport fans in the US were given access to the best possible broadcast and we are delighted to be working with StreamAMG ahead of a thrilling season. This is a unique opportunity for supporters to gain access through a dedicated platform that perfectly serves their expectations in terms of live broadcast and on-demand content.”
