Two former IMG agents will work with USA Luge in the build-up to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.

Marketing agencies DLM Associates and Dsnv Marketing Group will be hoping that sponsors come as easily to USA Luge as they did to the Canadian team, which signed a seven-figure sponsorship deal last month. If that is the case, the two-year deal with USA Luge could be worth around US$200,000 to the agencies, although the final amount will depend on sponsorship take-up.

The arrangement sees former IMG colleagues David Mitchell, founder of DLM, and Jen Rottenberg, founder of Dsnv, work together again. During their time with IMG the pair worked with clients as prestigious as Nike, ESPN and US Soccer.

“I have known Jen for 15 years, and we have collaborated in the past,” said Mitchell. “She and I are thrilled to be working together with such a high profile and accomplished governing body as USA Luge. Its people are top notch and it looks like one of the great opportunities for the US to shine at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.”

Gordy Sheer, USA Luge director of marketing and sponsorship, said: “In today’s economic climate, our organisation is very excited to have such high-quality representation helping us in the field of sponsorship sales. This is an absolutely critical period for our athletes and programmes and we are very confident in our partners at DLM Associates and Dsnv Marketing Group. We couldn’t be more excited to work together.”
