IEC in Sports has been appointed by the Union Européenne de Gymnastique (UEG) to exclusively distribute its media rights from 2013 to 2016.

The Stockholm-based agency, which takes over from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), will seek broadcast partners for at least 25 events during the three-year period. These will include the European Artistic, Rhythmic, Trampoline, Aerobic, Acrobatic and TeamGym Championships and the Gymnastics for All events.

UEG president Georges Guelzec said: “This partnership represents an interesting opportunity and we are very pleased to benefit from IEC’s strong network of broadcast partners in Europe and beyond. It represents a strategic alliance aiming at increasing the exposure of our Championships. We are confident that this partnership will generate a unique momentum for our events and partners.”

Nick Haigh, the chairman of the international board at IEC in Sports, added: “Gymnastics has always been a sport close to IEC’s core values and linked to our tradition. We are thrilled that UEG has entrusted us with the promotion and distribution of their most important package of events.”
