Fashion label Hugo Boss has signed an agreement with The European Tour renewing its position as the official clothing sponsor of the BMW PGA Championship, the Tour’s flagship event, for a further three years.
Under the terms of the agreement, the ‘Boss Green’ collection will provide all uniforms for the volunteers, lady markers and Tour officials at the event, which will take place on Wentworth’s West Course between 26th and 29th May next year. In addition, the 2011 winner will be presented with a specially tailored Hugo Boss jacket.
Till Pohlmann, head of sports sponsorship at Hugo Boss, said of the deal: “Hugo Boss is proud to be the official clothing sponsor of the flagship event of The European Tour. The BMW PGA Championship gives us the right platform to showcase our identification with the golf sport and its community.”
Pohlmann continued: “In the coming three years we create a link through Boss Green between casual sportswear and golf. Located just outside London we demonstrate a strong presence in this prestigious tournament and in the UK.”
Championship director Jamie Birkmyre added: “We are delighted to extend our relationship for a further three years. We recognise Hugo Boss as a terrific brand and the quality of their clothing is second to none.
“We are pleased to have renewed this long-term partnership with Hugo Boss, which complements our relationships with our other leading sponsors at next year’s BMW PGA Championship,” Birkmyre added.
The original deal between the two parties was signed in 2008. Financial details of the new agreement have not been disclosed.
