British Olympic triple gold medallist Chris Hoy has signed a new sponsorship deal with Highland Spring water, which will see him act as an ambassador for the Scottish water brand.
The agreement is initially for a year and, although no figures have been officially disclosed, it is understood to significantly enhance Hoy’s worth by up to US$100,000.
Sally Stanley, marketing director of the Scottish water brand, said of the deal: “Chris Hoy epitomises dedication to sport in the best possible way.
“The combination of his natural talent, commitment, modesty and elite achievements is hard to beat and totally inspiring.
“He will be a fantastic brand ambassador.”
Highland Spring already sponsor a wide range of athletes, including Team Murray in tennis (British number one Andy, his brother, Jamie, and their mother, Judy), the Scottish golfer Alistair Forsyth and the former world snooker champion Stephen Hendry.
