Hair salon chain Great Clips has extended its sponsorship agreement with Sonoma Raceway in California, USA.
The one-year agreement, which includes hospitality, signage and other co-promotional assets, sees the company continue as the official hair salon of the track for the second consecutive year. Great Clips will activate the deal by setting up a mobile salon at the venue during Nascar Sprint Cup and Izod Indycar race weekends.
Additionally, as part of the new deal the company will title sponsor Great Clips Fast Friday, a practice day on Friday 21st June ahead of this year’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 Sprint Cup Series race two days later.
Fast Friday is part of Nascar’s new qualifying concept for its two Sprint Cup road races this year. At Sonoma and Watkins Glen, the other road race in Nascar’s top-tier, timed practice sessions on Friday will now decide the groups for final qualifying on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s race.

“We’re looking forward to this partnership with Sonoma Raceway and helping support a great event for not only race fans, but for the Sonoma-area community as well,” said Jessica Jimoh, the associate marketing manager for Great Clips.
“Great Clips has been an active sponsor of motorsports for more than ten years and with more than 100 Great Clips salons in the Northern California area, this was a natural extension for us.”
Steve Page, the president and general manager of Sonoma Raceway, added: “Great Clips is a terrific brand with a young, active customer base. They are a perfect fit for this dynamic new feature of our race weekend and we look forward to working with them to help promote it.”
