- UK-based company recently penned agreement with DGC for use of the Betway brand in the US
Online betting and gaming brand Betway has announced sponsorship deals with seven teams across the National Basketball Association (NBA) and National Hockey League (NHL).
Betway’s NBA partnerships are with the Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors.
Meanwhile, in the NHL, the company is teaming up with the New York Islanders and the Los Angeles Kings, the latter of which will feature the brand via in-game and other digital assets.
Other details around the partnerships are scarce, but the agreements represent Betway’s first deals with professional sports teams in the US.
“The deals are an extension of our existing focus to promote the Betway brand in high-profile sports shown around the world,” said Betway chief executive Anthony Werkman. “Our branding will be seen courtside and rinkside in some of the biggest arenas in North America, bringing our customers closer to the action.”
The deal also comes shortly after Betway was confirmed as the sports betting partner for the ongoing Miami Open tennis tournament.
UK-based Betway has gained market access in a number of US states after entering into an exclusive brand licensing agreement with the Digital Gaming Corporation (DGC).
