- Deal covers key inventory for men’s, women’s and youth teams
- Club also agree deal with Spreadex for back of shirt branding
English second-tier soccer club Fulham have agreed a new shirt sponsorship deal with blockchain network World Mobile, signing a three-year principal partnership.
The branding will be revealed alongside Fulham’s new kit via the club and World Mobile’s social media platforms on 28th July, with the new strip’s first outing coming during the pre-season friendly against Charlton Athletic on 31st July.
The deal will also see World Mobile and Fulham create purpose-driven content designed to widen the brand’s reach across digital, social and linear channels.
World Mobile’s strategic focus is bringing mobile connectivity to Sub-Saharan Africa using its Cardano blockchain-backed network. According to the press release announcing the new partnership, around 20 million viewers watch English soccer’s second-tier Championship across Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, South Africa, Israel, Nigeria, and the United Arab Emirates, highlighting the opportunity for World Mobile in partnering with Fulham.
The brand also said the club’s values made them an attractive partner. Fifa, soccer’s global governing body, recently named Fulham the most ethical club based on metrics across ownership, partners, employment practices, fan involvement, and tax status.
The Fulham Foundation, the club’s charity arm, will also work World Mobile on community programmes across the length of the deal.
“This partnership will help spread the word on our mission to connect Africa and beyond, giving everyone an opportunity to get involved,” said Micky Watkins, World Mobile chief executive.
With their relegation opening up branding opportunities on the back their playing shirts, Fulham have also reached a new sponsorship deal with for that inventory with Spreadex. The online trading and betting have signed a deal for the next two seasons, with the partnership also including a number of online fan-engagement initiatives across Fulham’s website and social media pages.
Elsewhere, Premier League newcomers Brentford have announced a new two-year extension of their sponsorship deal with Utilita. The energy provider was previously the club’s principal shirt sponsor, but saw that inventory recently snapped up to the Hollywoodbets gambling brand in a two-year deal.
